Our 15-acre “Living Schoolyard” is an extension of our classroom. Immersive sensorial experiences provided in our Living Schoolyard are designed to unlock every child’s natural curiosities and inspire independent research inside and outside the classroom. Time is allotted for children to guide each other on trails and in the garden, making observations and creating positive experiences to learn from each other. Students work daily to care for our land. With 15-acres of woodland and wetland, there is much purposeful work to do every day. Opportunities for exploration in our natural environment are abundant. Daily interactions with wildlife will place emphasis on students’ individual responsibility to respect, care for and protect habitats as well as each other. Our programs are designed to foster patience, kindness and mindfulness in students, preparing them to adopt a deliberate sense of responsibility for nature, as individuals and a community.
