AMERICAN MONTESSORI SOCIETY (AMS)

As the foremost advocate for research, policy, and ongoing teacher education, the American Montessori Society leads and empowers the global community of Montessori educators. AMS upholds the standards of accreditation through opportunities for mentored individual growth, collaboration, and member engagement. The hub for all things Montessori, AMS strives to anticipate and respond to the needs of their varied constituents in areas including standards, research, public policy, peace and social justice, scholarships, and many more.

LOLMS has been a member of AMS for over 25 years and is a Verified AMS school.

ASSOCIATION FOR EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION (AEE)

Experiential Education is a hands-on form of learning that begins with concrete experience. After solving a problem, learners reflect on the process and are able to apply lessons more broadly to their lives. It is our school’s goal to elevate and expand the global capacity of experiential education by:

1) Building an inclusive and accessible community for experiential education professionals, firmly rooted in the philosophy, principles, and practices of experiential education.

2) Supporting the academic research of authoritative information for advancing the philosophy, principles, and practices of experiential education.

3) Presenting our collective resources and knowledge to supportive public audiences and advocate support for the expansion of experiential education.

SPHERE

LOLMS is a proud SPHERE member. SPHERE is an organization whose mission is: “To help the member schools collaborate in becoming and remaining culturally diverse, inclusive and responsive environments for teaching and learning? To this end, the member schools, individually and collectively, seek to achieve diversity in facilities, staff and student bodies, to create within each school and among the member schools a climate of respect for differences, and to encourage mutli-SPHERE perspectives in curricular and extracurricular programs.”

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (NAIS)

The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to supporting students, independent schools, and their communities. Providing services to more than 2,000 schools and associations of schools in the United States and internationally, NAIS largest association of and vocal advocate for the unique value of independent schools. We assist school leaders in delivering exceptional learning experiences through research and trend analysis, leadership and governance guidance, and professional development opportunities for school and board leaders.

NATIONAL WILDLIFE FOUNDATION

The LOLMS 15-acre campus is a certified NWF campus. The National Wildlife Foundation serves to protect, restore, and connect wildlife habitats, transform wildlife conservations, and connect Americans with wildlife. The National Wildlife Foundation believes America’s experience with cherished landscapes and wildlife has helped define and shape national character and identity for generations. From hunters, anglers, hikers, birders, wildlife watchers, boaters, climbers, campers, cyclists, gardeners, farmers, forest stewards, and other outdoor enthusiasts, this conservation ethic represents a sacred duty and obligation to protect and build upon the conservation heritage for wildlife, ourselves, our neighbors, and our future generations.

ADL

ADL is a leading anti-hate organization. Founded in 1913 in response to an escalating climate of anti-Semitism and bigotry, its timeless mission is to protect the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all. Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of hate with the same vigor and passion. ADL is a global leader in exposing extremism and delivering anti-bias education and is a leading organization in training law enforcement.

HUNTINGTON ARTS COUNCIL

LOLMS is a proud partner of the Huntington Arts Council. Art is an important educational tool at Love of Learning Montessori School. More broadly, Long Island’s arts community has a $266 million annual impact on the local economy. Programs of the Huntington Arts Council, including special events and expanding collaborations and partnerships, directly translate into greater economic vitality for the town of Huntington and surrounding areas. The Huntington Arts Council provides venues for the arts in our community, significantly boosting visitors’ viewership of works by local artists, increasing Arts Council Membership, and creating a greater presence throughout Long Island.
