Love of Learning proudly harbors a community of people – students, teachers, parents, and faculty – from a wide range of backgrounds. Our belief follows that the intersections of our identities, as families and as individuals, are what strengthens and nurtures the integrity of our school family. Holding space for the varieties of occupations, religions, ethnic and racial backgrounds, philosophies, and socioeconomic capacities each family contributes to our school body is essential to our childrens’ development as the future leaders, thinkers, innovators, creators, and caretakers of our world. It is imperative that their education prepares them to incorporate their interests and knowledge within the contexts of their own life. We place deliberate emphasis on making our programs accessible financially and physically to all. As an established Montessori school, it is our firm credence that education should be personalized, flexible, and sensitive to the needs and interests of each individual student.
Located on 15 acres of the wooded Alvernia campus and sharing the shoreline with Centerport Harbor, Love of Learning Montessori School provides programs for children from age three to thirteen, offering a purposeful educational foundation for an industrious and self-driven lifetime of curiosity. Our campus runs for an academic school year, from September to June, with classes running during weekdays. Options for ancillary and extra-curricular care are offered.
